Buying guides for flavoured condoms
Benefits and how to use
Benefits, how to use it, and what to watch for
What it is
A Durex flavoured latex condom, carrying a scented and sweetened lubricant intended for oral use. This one is Cherry. It is a full condom in every other respect and protects normally during intercourse. This pack holds 2 pieces, which works out at about Rs. 1453 each.
What people use it for
- Oral sex, where a flavoured coating masks the taste and smell of plain latex.
- Protection during oral sex — sexually transmitted infections do pass this way, and this is the barrier for it.
- Ordinary intercourse, which it is equally suitable for.
How to use it
- Open the foil at the notch, pinch the tip, and roll it down to the base.
- Use it for one activity only. If you move from oral to intercourse, change to a fresh condom.
- Add water-based lubricant if you switch to intercourse — the flavoured coating is not designed to lubricate for that.
Worth knowing
The flavoured coating contains sweeteners. It is intended for the mouth, not for internal use, and using a flavoured condom vaginally can cause irritation or contribute to thrush in people who are prone to it. A plain or standard lubricated condom is the better choice there.
Safety and storage
Use a new condom for every act, and check the expiry date on the foil before use. Open the foil at the notch with your fingers — teeth, scissors and rings are how most tear before they are even on.
Use only water-based lubricant. Oil-based products — petroleum jelly, baby oil, massage oil, lotion, most creams — weaken latex within minutes and are a common reason a condom fails without either partner noticing.
Store somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight. A wallet is the worst place to keep one: heat and friction damage the latex long before the printed expiry date.
Stop and see a doctor if either partner has itching, burning or a rash after use, which can indicate a latex allergy.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Can flavoured condoms be used for normal sex?
They protect perfectly well, but the sweetened coating can irritate and may contribute to thrush in people prone to it. For intercourse, a plain lubricated condom is the better choice.
Do I really need a condom for oral sex?
Several sexually transmitted infections do pass through oral sex. A flavoured condom is the barrier for exactly that, and the flavour is there to make it something you will actually use.
How do I know if the size is right?
A condom that fits should unroll to the base without strain and stay put without gripping painfully. Too tight is likelier to break; too loose can slip off. If a brand has never felt right, change the size before you change the feature — a small pack is a cheap way to test.
How long do these keep?
Every pack is printed with an expiry date, usually three to five years out from manufacture. We ship recently-dated stock, and the date is on the foil as well as the outer pack so you can check it yourself.
Is this original stock?
Yes. We buy only through authorised importers and distributors, so everything listed is genuine Durex stock and ships sealed in its original manufacturer packaging. We do not sell loose, repackaged or open-market goods.
Will the packaging show what is inside?
No. Everything ships in unmarked packaging — no brand, no product name, nothing on the courier slip that describes the contents.
Can I pay cash on delivery?
Yes. You pay the courier when the parcel reaches you, so no card details are needed. Orders over Rs. 2,000 ship free anywhere in Pakistan.
