Carex Water Based Warming Personal Lubricant 60g

What it is

A water-based lubricant with an added warming or cooling agent — usually a mild ingredient such as menthol or glycerol that creates a temperature sensation on the skin rather than an actual change in temperature. Supplied in the 60g size.

What people use it for

• Added sensation during foreplay or intercourse.
• Ordinary glide and comfort, which it provides like any water-based lubricant.
• Variety, for couples who find a plain lubricant does the job but nothing more.

How to use it

1. Patch-test first. Put a small amount on the inside of the wrist or forearm and wait a few minutes. These are the lubricants most likely to irritate, and testing somewhere forgiving first is worth the two minutes.
2. Start with a small amount. The sensation builds, and more product makes it stronger rather than better.
3. Rinse off with warm water if it becomes uncomfortable.

Who should be careful

Anyone with sensitive skin, or a history of thrush or irritation from scented products, may find these uncomfortable. They are not suitable for anal use, where the tissue is thinner and more easily irritated. Stop if there is burning rather than warmth.

Safety and storage

For external and intimate use only. Stop using it if there is stinging, itching or irritation, and see a doctor if that does not settle.

Do not use as a substitute for medical advice on dryness. Persistent dryness has causes worth identifying — hormonal changes, medication, infection — and lubricant manages the symptom rather than the cause.

Close the cap after use and store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
