Choosing the right wax strip
Derma Shine's wax strips are split by area and by skin type rather than by strength — all of them work the same way, so the choice is about comfort and where you're using them.
- Full body strips — larger format for legs and arms.
- Face strips — smaller, for more sensitive, contoured areas.
- Aloe vera and vitamin C papaya — the two gentler formulations, worth starting with if you haven't waxed before or have sensitive skin.
- Lemon and honey — the other main scent/formulation in the range.
Whichever strip you use: press firmly onto clean, dry skin in the direction of hair growth, then pull back sharply against the direction of growth, holding the skin taut. Patch-test a small area first if you haven't used the product before, and don't use on broken, sunburnt or irritated skin.
Derma Shine — common questions
- How long does hair need to be for the wax strips?
- Around 2 to 5 mm. Any shorter and the wax cannot grip properly, which gives patchy results.
- Can body strips be used on the face?
- No. Use the dedicated face strips — body and face formulations differ in strength and a body strip is too aggressive for facial skin.
- In what order should the foot care products be used?
- Pedi Soak first to soften, then the Pedicure Scrub to exfoliate, then Cracked Heel Cream to treat. Apply the heel cream at night with cotton socks over it for the best result.
- Do I need to patch-test?
- Yes, 24 hours before a full application, for both the wax strips and the creams. Do not wax over sunburn, broken skin, moles or varicose veins.
