Are Ultra-Thin Condoms Less Safe? What "Thin" Actually Means
Every condom sold legally in Pakistan passes the same burst and leak test — thin ones included.

"Ultra-thin" sounds like a safety trade-off. It isn't one, as long as the condom is used and stored correctly.
"Ultra-thin" reads like a compromise — less material must mean less protection, surely. It's an understandable assumption, and it's not how the testing actually works.
The safety bar doesn't move for thin condoms
Every condom sold legally in Pakistan, thin or standard, is electronically tested batch-by-batch and must pass the same WHO/ISO burst-pressure and leak-test standards before it can be sold. "Ultra-thin" is a marketing and feel category, not a separate, lower safety tier — a thin condom that shipped is one that passed the identical test a standard one did.
What actually changes
Wall thickness. Ultra-thin condoms typically run around 0.045-0.055mm versus roughly 0.06-0.07mm for a standard condom — a real, feelable difference, which is the entire point of buying one. DO Silk Ultra-Thin Delay Condoms and Klimax Intense Ultra Thin Contoured are two local examples that combine the thin profile with a contoured or delay feature.
Where thin condoms are less forgiving
Less material means less margin for the errors that damage any condom — a sharp fingernail, a wallet carried for weeks in heat, using the wrong end of the lubricant tube (oil-based on latex), or over-stretching during application. These mistakes matter for every condom; a thin one just has slightly less buffer against them. Store in a cool, dry place, check the expiry date, and open the wrapper carefully rather than tearing with teeth or nails.
The actual decision
Choosing thin vs standard is a feel preference, full stop — not a trade-off against protection. If sensitivity is what you're after and you're comfortable being a bit more careful with storage and handling, ultra-thin is a reasonable default rather than a risk.
