Are timing condoms safe?

Used as directed, yes. They are ordinary latex condoms with a delay lubricant added, so they give the same protection against pregnancy and STIs as any other condom.

Benzocaine causes irritation in a small number of people. Anyone with a known benzocaine or latex allergy should avoid them, and you should stop using them if either partner experiences irritation. Because the anaesthetic is on the inside of the condom, it should not transfer to your partner in normal use.
